Andrew Coy
Andrew is an educator, tech integration specialist, mentor, and entrepreneur. He began teaching at Digital Harbor High School after moving to Baltimore in 2009 with Teach For America. Although he started as a Social Studies teacher, he quickly found himself redesigning the school’s website, co-founding an after school club devoted to web development, teaching other teachers about technology, and fixing computers around the building. Andrew now teaches technology full time in addition to sitting on the Tech Advisory Board, the School and Family Council, the DHHS Alliance, managing IT for the building, and maintaining the school’s website.
He has been featured on the front cover of the Baltimore Sun and on the air at WYPR’s Maryland Morning with Sheliah Kast. In 2011 he co-founded the Baltimore EdTech Forum, and later that year, in November he lead the winning team at 1st ever Education Hack Day in Baltimore. Andrew is passionate about educational equality and is dedicated to reinventing education to empower students to take their place the 21st century digital workplace.
